ABOVE SMĚDAVA HIGHLANDS

One of the important peaks above Hejnice is Ořešník. It is a rock formed mainly by hard porphyric granite and granodiorite. The top of Ořešník is mostly overgrown with beeches and i tis because of the place is part of the Jizera Mountains Beech National Nature Reserve. As everywhere in Jizera mountains, there is a cross erected at the top. It is said that it has been standing here since 1813. The way up is one of the worse ones (it was terrible) and my friend allegedly led me along the more pleasant route from Ferdinadov in Hejnice. Even so, I had to change my lungs at the top. In the picture, it´s my brother-in-law, who we persuaded him to cross the suicidal traverse to the second peak. The view from above is really beautiful and worth it.
