STUDENEC IN THE GRASP OF WINTER

On mount Studenec we can find a lot of interesting things. Whether it is a lookout tower, forests formed by beeches, which man has not changed much, or rubble fields. The rubble fields are interesting in that we can often meet chamois, but also in that there is a natural phenomenon called micro-exhalation. The phenomenon, when at the foot of the hill, cold air is sucked into the system of vents, the so-called ventarol, which then passes through a whole system of internal cracks, is heated from the surrounding rock, and is blown much warmer back into the air at the top of the hill. If you want to see micro exhalations in all their beauty, you must visit the Boreč hill in the Bohemian Central Mountains in winter. Here in Studenec, this phenomenon is not as pronounced as in Boreč, but we can observe it in winter in places just below the upper edge of the rubble field.
