OVER WIDE RAVINE

There are many famous views over the main road from Bad Schandau to Hřensko. For example, Schrammsteine, Grosser Winterberg or Kipphorn. One of the lesser known is Breite Kluft. My friend and I came directly under this prospect. But don´t think it´s right by the road, it´s a 1.5 km long hike where you can overcome 270 meters. We snorted and wheezed, but we made it. It is another breathtaking view on the edge of the Malerweg trail. The view is hard to miss, and it is few steps from the trail. The area provides an ideal place to rest especially in the afternoon, the low winter sun lets the environment shine in a beautiful light. If you stay to dusk, you should have a flashlight especially for the descent to the Elbe valley.
